Mildred Hudson Hite

BUFFALO JUNCTION, VA. Mildred Hudson Hite, 85, died on Saturday, October 15, 2016. She was born in Halifax County on April 18, 1931 to the late Robert A. and Hallie Belle Lowery Hudson. Mildred attended the Hitesburg Baptist Church. Her talents included being creative and crafty with driftwood. She also loved working puzzles and using find-a-word books. Mrs. Hite is survived by daughters Anna Hite Overby and Phyllis Hite Cook, and husband Steven; son Danny Preston Hite and wife Lonie Bet; sisters Lula Belle Pool, Betty Rose Blanks of Cluster Springs, Jerie Wilmouth of Turbeville, and Gloria Bonham of Roanoke; brothers, Carl Hudson, Franklin Hudson and Bradley Hudson; grandchildren Danny Hite, Jr., Joseph Cook, Stephanie Steed, and Sam Bowen; and ten great grandchildren.Mildred is predeceased by her husband Chester Preston Hite. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Hitesburg Baptist Church, 2215 Hitesburg Church Rd. in Virgilina with the Reverend Mike Riley officiating. Interment will follow at the Hite Family Cemetery in Hitesburg. Visitation will be held on 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville, VA.
