Minnie Belle Oldham Howerton

Mrs. Minnie Belle Howerton went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. She was born in Selma, NC to the late Melvin Brooks & Evelena Blalock Oldham. She was married to Robert E. "Gene" Howerton. She was a retired salesperson and was of the baptist faith. Mrs. Howerton is survived by her husband; daughter, Debbie Willis Puryear and husband, Tony of South Boston; granddaughter, Tami Denise Pace and fiance', Kenny Bowes, grandson, Matthew Scott Wilkins and wife, Jaqueline, granddaughter, Amberly Rose Moon, grandson, Adam Blake Wilkins; great grandson, Hunter Steven Pace, great granddaughter, Savannah Raine Bowes, great granddaughter, Laci Briann Wilkins, great grandson, Kaden Garrett Bowes; daughters, Rhonda Jill Davis and Becky Sue Willis, both of South Boston; step daughter, Beth Wilson of South Boston; sisters, Doris Stacey of Roxboro, NC, Patsy Henderson of Halifax, Ila Arthur of Danville, and Ava Rives of Siler City, NC; brothers, Melvin "Buddy" Oldham of Goldston, NC, Ralph Oldham of Roxboro, NC, and Charlie Oldham of Bear Creek, NC. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 11:00 Am at Black Walnut Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 8:30 PM at Brooks Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 1041 Leigh McKay Trail, South Boston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Halifax County Cancer Association, PO Box 875, South Boston, VA 24592.
