Mitchell Gordon Seamons

HALIFAX - Mitchell Gordon Seamons, 44, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was born on June 14, 1973 in Halifax County, VA to Hattie Gordon Hackney and the late Mitchell Uriel Seamons.Mitchell was a construction worker and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Seamons is survived by his mother; sisters and brother-in-law, Iris Seamons and Ilor Bailey (Wendell), all of South Boston; sons, Jesse Lee Seamons of Texas and Preston Spencer Seamons of Virgilina; nieces, Caitlyn Wilkerson (Frankie), Nicole Whitlow, Amanda Bailey, and Da’Zygheona Bailey; and nephew, Jasper Poole; and a great niece and great nephew. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Irene Seamons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Hitesburg Baptist Church with the Reverends Vance Midgett and Doug Ballew officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. and at other times at the home of his mother, 1015 Quail Lane, Halifax.
