Mrs. Mollie Bet Murray Loftis, 96, widow of Clifton Edward Loftis, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital. Born November 03, 1914 to Ocie and Laura Murray, Mollie Bet was a graduate of Oak Hill High School with the Class of 1931. She was a passionate gardener. Mollie Bet and Clifton owned and operated Loftis Esso Station for 35 plus years. A member of Union Christian Church, funeral services will be held there at 3PM Sunday with the Reverend Sidney Rodriquez officiating. Interment will follow in the Virgilina Cemetery. Mrs. Loftis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Patty Loftis of Virgilina; grandchildren, Beth and Mark Nutter of Boydton, Connie and Jamie Terry of Quinton, Chad and Melissa Loftis of Virgilina, and Ken Loftis of Lake St. Louis, MO. Her great grandchildren, Jennifer, Wyatt, Jacob, Morgan, and Colton also survive. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 2PM.
