Morgan Hurt Cole

Mr. Morgan Hurt Cole of Halifax, VA died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the age of 86. Mr. Cole was born in Halifax Co., VA on September 27, 1927 to the late Robert Dalton Cole and the late Fannie Spencer Cole. He was a former supervisor for Dominion Virginia Power and was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Cole enjoyed socializing with friends and was a member of the Hyco Ruritan Club and VFW Post 8243. Survivors include a son, William Dalton Cole and wife, Christine of Lexington, KY; a granddaughter, Felicia Cole of Louisville, KY; and two sisters, Lucy Arrington of Buffalo Junction, VA and Marie Ford of Virgilina, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Wainright Cole, his parents, brother; Page Cole and sister; Doris Elliott A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at the home, 5061 Halifax Rd., Halifax, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Lung Association Bike Trek to Shakertown at www.biketrektoshakertown.org, Bill Cole.
