Mosby Thomas Miles

Mr. Mosby Thomas Miles of Scottsburg died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the age of 73. He was born in Mecklenburg Co. on June 17, 1937 to the late Joseph Mosby Miles and the late Mary Elizabeth Briggs Miles. He was a retired electrical contractor for Climate Control, Inc. and was a member of Nelson Baptist Church. Survivors include special family, Terri Hazelwood and husband, Danny of Scottsburg, Tanette Smith of South Boston, Brittany Hazelwood, Skylar Smith, and Gavin Smith; nephews, Gerald Overbey of Staunton, Patrick Overbey of Stuarts Draft, and Leroy Overbey of Nelson; nieces, Evelyn Marshburn of Butner, NC, Carolyn Curl of Oxford, NC, Helen Blackwell of Oxford, NC, Betsy Price of Staunton, Hazel Miller of Bullock, NC, Kathy Keeton of Buffalo Junction, Eva Abba of South Boston, Mildred Claiborne of Stovall, NC, and Mary Lee Reagan of Alton; and a host of other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by companion, Agnes Terry Tucker; brothers, Clarence Barrow Miles and Claude Wilson "Buddy" Miles; and sister, Ernestine Miles Overbey. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Terry Family Cemetery with Dr. Russell Lee officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 PM and at other times at the home, 4222 James D. Hagood Hwy., Scottsburg.
