Mozelle Garrett Thomas

Clarksville, VA - Mozelle Garrett Thomas, widow of George Dunnie Wilbourne and Tommie Thomas, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the age of 88.She was born April 8, 1930 in Mecklenburg County to the late Thomas Edward, Sr. and Lessie Elliott Garrett.Mozelle was a loving mother and a care giver to many over the years. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Patsy W. and Phillip Driggs and Carolyn Wilbourne Evans (Robert Strickler), all of Clarksville.Her sister, JoAnn G. Grissom of Clarksville and brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Sally Garrett of Henderson, NC; along with grandchildren, Jason Driggs, Jessica Ruff (Miller), Brandy Hensley (Philip), and Jacob Strickler, and great grandchildren, Alex Driggs, Juliana Ruff and Harper Ruff, also survive. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Robert Garrett, Hazel Hart, Anna Burford, Thomas Garrett, Jr. and Zennie Jordan. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2018 in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverends Carroll Glasscock and Jackie Wray officiating.Interment will follow in Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17 at the funeral home.
