Muriel Ann Whitlow Dawson

Mrs. Muriel Ann Whitlow Dawson of 1146 N. Main St., South Boston, VA, formerly of Alton, VA died on Sunday, August 18, 2012 at the age of 80. She was born on December 30, 1932 to the late Palmer Whitlow and the late Mary Gravitt Whitlow, and was married to the late Maynard Lee Dawson. She was a member of Alton Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the WMU. Mrs. Dawson is survived by three daughters, Gail Warren and her husband, Leonard of Alton, VA, Debra Pulliam and her husband, Stuart of Semora, NC, and Mickie Powell and her husband, J.R. of Youngsville, NC; six grandchildren, Scott Warren and his wife, Jayme of Durham, NC, Hal Pulliam and his wife, Cathy of Sutherlin, VA, Lee Pulliam and Ashley Pulliam both of Semora, NC, Rob Powell and his wife, Alyssa of Holly Springs, NC, and Amanda Powell of Youngsville, NC; and three great-grandchildren, Waylon, Hallie and Jake. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Morell Whitlow; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Alton Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church immediately following the service, and at other times at the home of Leonard and Gail Warren, 2093 Paradise Rd., Alton, VA 24520.
