Myrtle Howerton Glass of Love Shop Road, Halifax passed to her eternal home on Friday, September 9, 2022 at the age of 89, She was born in Halifax County on June 6, 1933 to the late James Thomas Morris and the late Nannie Parker Morris. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Raymond Howerton and her 2nd husband, Woody Glass.
Myrtle was a member of Revelation Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian mother and grandmother who dedicated her time to her church, her family and the Lord.
She is survived by her children, Tommy Howerton (Mary Lynn), Margie Hudson (Doug), and Jerry Howerton (Cathie); grandchildren, Denise Corter, Jamie Howerton, Beth Wilson, Jason Howerton, P.D. Hudson Jr, Candi McBride, J.D. Howerton and Brandi Sconzo;15 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; brother, Riley Morris; and special friends, Tajanda Woodall, Sandra Waller, Sue Morgan and Donna Lawson.
In addition to her parents and both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by sons, Gene Howerton and Clyde Howerton; grandson, Bobby Howerton; and siblings, Willie, Page, Lizzie, Nellie, and Frances.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Hearp officiating and the burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1:30-2:30 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
