Nancy Powell Bradshaw

Nancy Powell Bradshaw of Hardy, VA and formerly of South Boston, VA, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at the age of 95.  Born in Halifax County on April 4, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Giles Powell and Annie Laura Cox Powell.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Gaston "W.G." Bradshaw, Jr.

Nancy was a member of Black Walnut Baptist Church and was very active in the choir and WMU while she was able to attend.  She worked for 21 years as a switchboard operator at Halifax /South Boston Community Hospital and dispatcher for Halifax County Rescue Squad.

She is survived by a son, William Gaston "Bill" Bradshaw, III (Danelle) of Hardy, VA; grandson, Brooks Bradshaw; and a brother, Clarence Powell (Jayne) of Roxboro, NC and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents & her husband; sisters, Mary P. Burton and Frances Guthrie.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Black Walnut Baptist Church with Reverend Shelton Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1PM - 2 PM at the church.
