Nancy Hughes Gentry

Mrs. Nancy Hughes Gentry of 180 Maplewood Court, Danville, Va 24549, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the age of 74. She was born in Halifax County on August 26, 1936 to the late James (Jimmy) William Hughes and the late Mary Sue Lowery Hughes, and was married to the late Bobby J. Gentry. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Gentry Spangler and husband Dan of South Boston, VA and Sharon Gentry Campbell and husband Gary of Danville, VA; five grandchildren, Casie, Jennifer, Mary Katherine, Elizabeth, and Garrett; Three great grandchildren, Dawson, Colton, and Christian. In addition to her family, she also leaves behind lifelong friend, Hazel Clienhans. In honor of her wishes, there will only be a private graveside service at Oak Ridge Cemetery on Thursday, December 2, at 2 o'clock with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in honor of her beloved cat Booboo, to the Halifax County Humane Society, P.O. Box 969, South Boston, VA 24592 or to the ASPCA. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the South Terrace staff at Roman Eagle.
