Nancy Jeanette Ward Stevens of Halifax passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was born on October 17, 1942 to Thomas Clinton Ward and Lillie Mae Smith Ward.
Nancy was employed with Burlington Industries for 34 years until the closing of the plant and then she worked for 10 years at Sunshine Mills. She had an innate love for animals.
She is survived by her children, Danny Stevens (Mary Jo) and Judy Mulchi; grandchildren, Mandy Stevens (Jeffery), Erica Conner (Dennis), Sara Stevens (Brandon), David Douglas (Kelli) and Ryan Anderson; great grandchildren, Deonna Shelton (Kody), Dakota Loftis (Faith), Ethan Conner, Eli Seamster, Olivia Seamster, Ella Seamster, Reid Douglas and Rhett Douglas; great great grandchildren, Graycee Shelton, Liam Shelton, Londyn Loftis and Kadyn Loftis; sisters-in-law, Sandi Hammock and Judy Ward; and her son-in-law, Bill Granger.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Granger; brothers, Wayne Ward, Gene Ward; son-in-law, Ricky Mulchi; daughter-in-law, Betty Jean Stevens; and her life companion, Wayne Culley.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 19th at 2:00PM in Oak Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Todd McClure officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 18th at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home from 6:00PM until 7:30PM and other times at the home.
