Nancy Shotwell Poythress

Mrs. Nancy Shotwell Poythress of 6126 Cluster Springs Rd., Alton, VA died on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the age of 66. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on December 28, 1946 to the late, Henry Alfred Shotwell and the late Gracie Lowery Shotwell and was married to Thomas Edward "Tommy" Poythress. Mrs. Poythress was a member of Alton Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Edward "Tommy" Poythress of Alton, VA; one son, Dwayne Long and girlfriend, Jennifer of Alton, VA; two brothers, Wayne Shotwell and wife, Lorene of Alton, VA and Ray Shotwell and wife, Bonnie of Alton, VA; one sister, Margaret Ford of South Boston, VA; Granddaughters, Harley, Kendall, McKayla, and Lacy Jean Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Erlene Shotwell. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Alton Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at her home, 6126 Cluster Springs Rd., Alton, VA.
