Clarksville, VA - Nancye McCracken Knott, widow of Edward Judson Knott, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.She was born on February 11, 1925 in South Boston, VA to the late Judith Watkins Graham and James Samuel McCracken.Nancye was a retired art teacher.She taught in Vance County schools, the Senior Citizen Center in Henderson and at Kerr Lake School.She was a member of Nutbush Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Knott was preceded in death by her daughter, JudithTyler.She is survived by her son, Edward Judson Knott, III and his wife, Sue; son in law, Richard Tyler; grandsons Benjamin Knott (Cyndi) of Clarksville and Richard Tyler (Jamie) of Durham, NC; granddaughter Helen Kraus (Greg) of Cary, NC; great-grandchildren, Josh Kraus, Ruth Kraus, Ashlyn Knott and Caleb Knott; sister, Mary Shelby of Roanoke Rapids, NC and brother, George McCracken of Williamsburg, VA.Also surviving is her loving companion, “Mazie”. Friends and family are invited to the residence of Jud and Sue Knott, 180 Carrols Lane, Clarksville, VA on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 1 p.m. to share fellowship and memories.A Celebration of the Life of Nancye McCracken Knott will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Nutbush Presbyterian Church, Townsville, NC with the Reverend David Vellenga officiating.
