Nannie Elliott Cliborne

Mrs. Nannie Elliott Cliborne of 8141 J.D. Hagood Hwy., Scottsburg (Formerly of Virgilina)died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the age of 86. She was born in Halifax County on May 11, 1923 to the late Karl W. Elliott and Rosa Mae Glasscock Elliott and was married to the late William E. Cliborne, Sr.. Mrs. Cliborne was a member of Union Christian Church and was retired from Burlington Industries. Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia C. Reese and husband, Wilson of Halifax; a son, William E. Cliborne and wife, Mary of Green Bay; a brother, Carl W. Elliott of Virgilina; a sister, Mattie E. Kennedy of Richmond; and three grandchildren, Tommy M. Cliborne, Kim R. Cliborne, and Peggy Jenkins. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis J. Elliott. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Rhew officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Friday from 7 until 8 PM and at other times at the home of Sylvia and Wilson Reese, 1080 Fordland Dr., Halifax.
