Clarksville, VA M. Nevelene Fendley was born on October 26, 1930, in Six Mile, SC. Known to her family as “MeMa”, Nev, as her friends called her, was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Joseph and together they raised their only child, Janet Sherrell Louise Fendley (Callahan). Nev was a nurturer at heart, always tending to her grandchildren, their children, her yard and many flower gardens, as well as, helping anyone who crossed her path. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Callahan (David); grandchildren, Heather (Chad), Chris (Tina); beloved brother, Charles Finley; granddaughters, Chrissy (Ali), Staci; and all her great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her brothers, Leland and Kenneth; sister, Eloise; and her parents as well as granddaughter, Amy. The family will receive friends from 4 - 6 P.M. on Thursday, April 21 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 23 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sweet Virginia Barn Cats in memory of her sweet kitty, Bootsy (sweetvirginiabarncats.org) or to Clarksville Baptist Church.
