Norma Yancey Henderson

SOUTH BOSTON - Mrs. Norma Yancey Henderson of South Boston, widow of Willie Jeff “Hogeye” Henderson, Jr., passed away on November 4, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born in Mecklenburg Co., VA on November 3, 1926 the daughter of the late Everette A. Yancey and the late Kathryn Jones Yancey. Norma was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was a hairdresser at Professional Beauty Salon, an avid golfer, and homemaker. Mrs. Henderson is survived by her son, Willie Jeff Henderson, III and wife, Janet of Crystal Hill; grandson, Jay Charles Henderson and wife, Kelly; granddaughter, Joni Henderson and husband, Philip Moorefield; and great grandchildren, Tye Henderson, Karsyn Henderson, Madison Moorefield, and Sandy Moorefield. Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Yancey Henderson will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM and at other times at the home of Jeff and Janet Henderson, 1038 Country View Lane, Crystal Hill. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
