Norma Jean Carter Talley

Norma Jean Carter Talley, 70, widow of Walter Thomas Talley, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011. Mrs. Talley is survived by her daughters, Phyllis S. Forlines Alan of Clarksville; and Irene S. Spencer of Millburn, FL. Norma Jean was born in Durham, NC on January 18, 1941 to Irene Aiken and Major Louis Carter. She was preceded by her brothers, Louis Carter, Sam Carter, Raymond Carter, Billy Carter, Dwight Carter and Bobby Carter; her sisters, Dorothy King and June Carter. Norma Jean worked for Erwin Cotton Mill and then worked in the food industry until her retirement. To cherish her memory she leaves five grandchildren, Holly Kersey Orlando of Florida, Thomas Spencer Courtney of Oxford, NC and Jessica Tuck Charles of the home in Buffalo Junction, Alison and Christopher Forlines of Clarksville. She also has four great grandchildren, Caimyn Kersey, Joshua Spencer, Andrew Long and Hailey Spencer. The family will receive friends and family at the home of Alan and Phyllis Forlines, 159 Buffalo Road, Clarksville. A memorial service to celebrate Norma Jean's life will be scheduled for a later date.
