Mrs. Norma Coleman Pool, 82, of 2163 Alphonse Dairy Road, South Boston, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at her home. She was born February 22, 1929 in Pikeville, Ky. She met and married Fred Pool, Sr. in 1946 and moved to South Boston, VA where she lived for 65 years. Mrs. Pool was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was retired from Leggett's Department Store. She also was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Pool is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nita and Charles Payne of Halifax, Rose "Tye" and Jim Pillion and Rene' and Randy Dixon, all of South Boston; and sons-and daughters-in-law, Freddie and Marlyn Pool of Alton, Robert Pool, and Tommy and Tammy Pool, all of South Boston, and Richard and Chasity Pool of Halifax. Fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Pool was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Raymond Pool, Sr.; her father, Clarence Coleman; her mother, Celia Branham Coleman; one brother, Wade Coleman; one sister, Flo Coleman Pool and by one grandson, Chuck Payne. A private graveside service for Mrs. Pool will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2PM at Grace Baptist Church with the Reverend Jeaux Simmons officiating.
