Mrs. Ola Mae Thompson Walden of 9001 Bill Tuck Hwy., Virgilina, VA died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born in Rowan Co., NC on January 19, 1922 to the late Jason M. Thompson and the late Nina Brotherton Thompson and was married to the late Phillip M. Walden, Sr.. Mrs. Walden was retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Phillip M. Walden, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Lillington, NC; a brother, Presley Thompson and wife, Gladys of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Mary Smith of Richmond, VA, Evelyn Tuck and husband, Mark of Crewe, VA, and Christine Bowen of South Boston, VA; two grandsons, Marvin Walden and wife, Vicky and Ansel Walden and wife, Analeah; three great grandchildren, Dustin Walden, Olivia Walden, and Nicky Pope; and a great grandchild, Blakely Capps. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Aarons Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Joe McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
