Mr. Olin Orlando Taylor, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.One hundred and one years ago, on March 16, 1914, he was born to The Reverend James Taylor and Susannah Dunsworth Boring Taylor in Brookfield, Missouri.Mr. Taylor was a United States Navy veteran.In the past he was in charge of training gun boat crews in the Chesapeake Bay, a comptroller for the ordnance corp with the Army and an assistant professor of Naval Science and Tactics at the University of Virginia. In 1966, Olin married his late wife, Lydia Eliason Price Taylor.He was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church where he taught youth Sunday school.Mr. Taylor was a great tennis player and played golf until the ripe age of 99 years.Olin Orlando Taylor is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth D. Taylor, James W. and Pamela Taylor, his granddaughter, Jaquelee Rose McKinnon, his grandson and wife, Allen and Corann Harper, his great granddaughters Rebecca McKinnon, Madison Harper and Haley Harper.He is also survived by his local family, Katie Wasden, Candice Wasden and Kaleb Wasden.A memorial service for Olin will be held at Clarksville Baptist Church on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2:00PM.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Medical Missions Outreach, 9202 Philadelphia Rd., Baltimore, MD 21237.The family of Mr. Taylor is being cared for by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
