Patricia "Pat" Coon Bradshaw

Patricia Ellen "Pat" Coon Bradshaw of South Boston, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the age of 78.  Born in Halifax County on October 11, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Ernest F. Coon, Sr. and the late Mattie Virginia Dodson Coon.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Bradshaw.

Pat worked with Burlington Industries for 38 years, after which she went to work with the Halifax County School System as a secretary for 10 years.  She loved to watch Disney movies and enjoyed cooking.  She was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church and was a member of the women's group and sang in the choir.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Held (Michael); grandchildren, Richard Montgomery, Rebeka Montgomery, Daniel Montgomery, Caleb Held, Vincent Held and Brittnie Held; great grandchildren, Marshall Roberts and Hunter Montgomery; sister, Robin Mahan; nieces and nephew, Deborah Mitchell, Kimberly Conner, and Brian Coon; and sisters-in-law, Priscilla Coon and Gail Coon.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Arthur Coon, Leonard Coon and Ernest Coon, Jr.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of 1st Care At Home for their compassionate care towards Pat and the rest of the family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on July 16th, at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Cedar Grove UMC Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Monday, July 15th from 6:30 to 8:00pm.
