South Boston - Mrs. Pearl E. Crenshaw of South Boston died Friday, September 2, 2016 at the age of 95. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on September 11, 1920 to the late Moses Anderson Epps and the late Mary Thompson Epps and was married to the late John Faulkner Crenshaw. Pearl was a homemaker and was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church. Mrs. Crenshaw is survived by her daughters, Judy Foster and husband, Wayne of Danville, VA and Jackie Austin of Greensboro, NC; son, Ronald Crenshaw and wife, Wanda of South Boston; sisters, Hazel Eades of South Boston, Mary McDowell of South Boston, and Nannie Beard of Halifax, VA; six grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, John F. Crenshaw, Jr. and Vandy Earl Crenshaw; sisters, Lucy Eanes, Annie Whitlow, and Ruby Seamon; and brothers, Obie Epps, Robert “Poke” Epps, Otis Epps, Lacy Epps, and Bernard Epps. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to your favorite charity.
