Pearl Jeanette Rice Yancey

Mrs. Pearl Jeanette Rice Yancey of South Boston died Monday, April 19, 2010 at the age of 93. She was born in Halifax County on June 22, 1916 the daughter of the late Johnny and Jeanette Rice and was married to the late Willie Jackson Yancey. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Yancey is survived by two daughters, Joyce Ann Stone and her husband, Bernice of Cluster Springs,Carolyn Marie Mancuso and husband, Sam of Hampton; five sons, Willie Jackson Yancey and wife, Deme of Raleigh, NC, Herbert Lee Yancey and wife, JoAnn of Richmond, Carson Wayne Yancey and wife, Rosa Lee of South Hill, and John William Yancey and wife, Phyllis of Salisbury,NC, Jackie Lynn Yancey and wife, Campo of Richmond; 16 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Yancey was also preceded in death by a son Steven Allen Yancey and 9 brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Tuesday night from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Virgilina Cemetery with Rev. Norman Talley officiating.
