Peggy Jacobs Newton

Clarksville, VA Peggy Ann Jacobs Newton, widow of Ray Newton, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the age of 89.She was born on February 1, 1928 in Person County, NC to the late Maude Daniel Jacobs and the late Andrew Gattis Jacobs.Mrs. Newton was a retired housewife and a member of Nelson Baptist Church. Peggy Newton is survived by her daughter, Sheila Newton Hart and husband, Phil Hart of Clarksville; brother, Joseph Jacobs of Roxboro, her grandson and his wife, Brian and Julie Stutts, and her great grandchildren, Cooper and Caylie Stutts. Also surviving are step grandchildren, David and Venita Hart and their daughter, Aleia, as well as Kenneth and Hope Hart and daughter, Claire. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Newton and Helen Garrett. Funeral services for Mrs. Newton will be held at Nelson Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.The Reverend Don Wilson will officiate the service.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
