Virgilina, VA - Perry Lynn Bagbey, husband of Susan “Sue” Punk Bagbey, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the age of 57. He was born in Halifax County on January 16, 1961 to the late Bessie Gordon and Ryland Hoover Bagbey. Perry was a graduate of Mecklenburg Academy and was an owner/operator of Bagbey's Service Station & Garage. He was an avid golfer and baseball player/coach, who graciously shared his knowledge of the game with everyone. Perry dearly loved his family and was known far and wide for making a difference in his community. Cherishing Perry’s memories are his wife, Sue; sons and daughters-in-law Joey and Brandy Bagbey and Justin and Samantha Bagbey; daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Luke Griles; granddaughter Madilynn Bagbey; brothers Daryl Bagbey (Lan), Harrell Bagbey (Sandra), Danny Bagbey ( Angela) and sisters Debbie Moore and Sandra Lenhart (Charles).Also surviving are his mother-in-law Judith Punk; brothers-in-law Bryan Punk (Vickie) and Joe Punk (Sandy); numerous nieces and nephews and close friend, Carl Newton. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, February 14 at Grace Baptist Church in Virgilina with burial to follow at Nelson Baptist Church Cemetery.The Reverend Norman Talley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Virgilina Volunteer Fire Department or the Halifax County High School Athletic Club.
