Presley Rixey Sheffield

Red Oak, VA Presley “Rick” Rixey Sheffield, 91, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at his residence.He was born in Waverly, VA on October 26, 1924 to the late Alice Rixey and Jessie David Sheffield.Mr. Sheffield was a US Army veteran serving during World War II.He was a retired grocer who was a manager for Safeway Foods and then operated Sheffield Hines Supermarket. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Snead Sheffield, daughters, Barbara Ann Dobbin of Berkley Springs, WV, Nancy Joann Sheffield of Red Oak and Marjorie Jane Vesper of Bracey, and sister, Edith Louise Comfort of Silver Springs, MD.He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mae Frances Watlington of Waverly, VA. Contributions in memory of Rick Sheffield may be made to Antioch Baptist Church in Red Oak, VA.
