Rachel Crowder Reese

Chase City, Virginia Rachel Crowder Reese, 88, widow of William H. Reese, died Saturday morning at Community Memorial Healthcenter. Rachel had been a member of New Hope Baptist Church since she accepted Christ as a child. She was a graduate of Chase City High School and retired from Burlington Industries after a career of 35 plus years. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 PM in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Reverends Melvin Bradshaw and Richard Martin. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery in Chase City. Surviving are her Daughter and Son in Law Carolyn & C. Wayne Carter; Grandson Curtis Wayne "C.W." Carter, Jr.; Great Granddaughters Chelle Lynn Carter and Elizabeth Faye Carter all of Chase City; a brother Melvin L. Crowder of Richmond and also a long term dear & loving friend Mildred Pugh of Chase City. The family will receive friends Monday Night 7-8:30 PM at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville.
