Ralph Lee "Butch" Barker

HALIFAX - Mr. Ralph Lee “Butch” Barker, Jr. of Halifax passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the age of 64. He was born in Pittsylvania Co., VA on November 2, 1952 the son of the late Ralph Lee Barker, Sr. and the late Charlotte Bennett Lewis. Butch was the owner/operator of Barker Roofing since 1990. He was a member of the Scottsburg Fire Department, where he served as the former Chief and as a first responder for several years, and a member of McKendree United Methodist Church. Butch enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, motorcycles, baseball games, and farming. Mr. Barker is survived by his wife, Billie Miller Barker of Halifax; son, Lee Barker and his wife, Tammy of Halifax; daughter, AJ Comer and her husband, Clint of Byron, GA; grandchildren, Josh Barker, Kyle Barker, and Grayson Comer; sisters, Patricia Bradshaw and her husband, Lloyd and Carolyn Strohm and her husband, Jay; and many nieces and nephews. Everyone is invited to attend an informal celebration of life with family, friends, and children on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the home, 1173 N. Terrys Bridge Rd., Halifax. The family will receive friends at his home and at the homes of his sisters, Patricia Bradshaw and Carolyn Strohm.
