Ralph Franklin Cole

Ralph Franklin Cole, Sr. of 2214 North Fork Church Rd., Virgilina, VA died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the age of 83. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on April 22, 1928 to the late Robert Daniel Cole and the late Mary Seat Cole Elder and was married to Patsy Lunsford Cole. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a retired insurance agent for Independent Life Insurance Co.. Mr. Cole was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and also of AARP. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Ralph Franklin Cole, Jr. and wife, Hope of Alton, VA and Robert Daniel Cole of Virgilina, VA; a brother, Otis W. Cole of Virgilina, VA; three sisters, Clara C. Elliott of Virgilina, VA, Sylvia C. Lowery of South Boston, VA, and Eula C. Fuller of Buffalo Junction, VA; a grandson, Robert Alex Cole; and a granddaughter, Mary Alethea Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. George Gorman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 7 until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of his son, Robert Cole, 3126 Lowery Rd., Virgilina.
