Ralph Lawrence "Buddy" Neal

Rev. Ralph Lawrence Neal of 5608 Thom Rd., Mebane NC, Formerly of South Boston died Monday, March 14, 2011 at the age of 68. He was born in Carrboro, NC on July 22, 1942 to the late Rosco Neal and the late Lillian Head Neal and was married to Edith Faye Collier Neal. Rev. Neal was called to preach in 1968 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Carrboro, NC. He graduated from Bob Jones University in 1971 and pastored Centerville Baptist Church in South Boston for 21 1/2 years. He was a missionary to Romania for 16 yrs and he pastored Lighthouse Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, NC for 2 years. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Edith Faye Neal of the home; and one son, Timothy Todd Neal and his wife, Geanina of York, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thurmon Head; and two sisters, Caroline Browning and Charlotte Clark. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Centerville Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Wells and Dr. Elwood Seamster officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM also on Saturday.
