HALIFAX Mr. Ray Boyd, husband of Trauti Goletz Boyd, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the age of 74. He was born on January 4, 1947 to the late Harvey Bruce Boyd and the late Lottie Hite Boyd. Ray was the owner of Quick-Way Salvage in Halifax County. He loved antique cars and restoring them himself. In addition to his wife, Trauti, he is survived by a daughter, Michelle Boyd Tween and husband, Brian of East Chester, NY; son, Michael Boyd of Wake Forest, NC; granddaughter, Maggie Tween; brothers, Marshall Boyd and wife, Tina of Kingsland, GA and Horace Boyd and wife, Christine of New Rochelle, NY; nieces, nephews and other family members, also his former wife, Nancy Boyd of FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Moderelli. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church with Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be an open visitation and viewing on Thursday, February 11 from 10 AM until 6 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home, 115 Main Street, South Boston.
