Raymond Joseph "Chip" Mechtel Jr.

Raymond Joseph "Chip" Mechtel of Virgilina, VA passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at the age of 71. He was born on August, 10, 1950 in Pittsburg, PA to Raymond Joseph Mechtel, Sr. and Emma Mlatnik.

Chip was a a Veteran of the U.S. Army and graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor's degree in Sciences. He was a local handyman and completed all kinds of odd jobs. Chip was a resident of Virgilina for over 40 years and loved where he lived, it was his little piece of paradise. He is survived by his sisters Carol Costanzo and Nancy L. Peck (Reed); friends, Mike & Debra Hite, Daryl & Wendy Bowen, and a host of other close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
