Reafer S. Stewart

Mrs. Reafer S. Stewart of 11211 Stewart Tr., Virgilina died Tuesday, December 1 at the age of 91. Mrs. Stewart was born in Person Co., NC on October 14, 1918 to the late James William & Harriett Stuart Stewart and was married to the late Caleb Henry Stewart. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Stewart is survived by 4 daughters, Annie Daniel of Alton, Jerilene Phipps of Richmond, Rita Rogers of Cary, NC, and Nina Bryant of Crewe; 5 sons, Gaylon Stewart of Virgilina, Dwight Stewart of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Ervin Stewart of Richmond, James Stewart of South Boston, and Rev. Jack Stewart of Virgilina; a sister, Mary S. Martin of Virgilina; a brother, Mack Stewart of Danville; 27 Grandchildren and 54 Great Grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Hugh Stewart; and two grandsons, Billy Oakley and Adam Bryant. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Thursday night from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at the home.
