Rebecca Pittard Brewer

OXFORD, NC Rebecca Pittard Brewer, 74, wife of Marion Thomas Brewer, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Granville Medical Center in Oxford.Rebecca was born in Granville County on September 29, 1940 to the late Frank Thomas and Hettie Talley Pittard.A graduate of Oak Hill High School with the Class of 1959, Rebecca was employed with Burlington Industries for over 10 years and then worked for Lenox China for over 17 years.A member of Amis Chapel Baptist Church, funeral services will be held there at 2pm on Wednesday with the Reverend Terry Howard officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.In addition to her husband of 51 years, Rebecca is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Thomas and Patsy Brewer, Steven Wayneand Sandra Brewer and Robin Marionand Gina Brewer, all of Oxford, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Her sisters, Eleanor P. Crute of South Boston and Faye P. Crute and Tommie P. Lumpkin, both of Oxford also survive.The family will receive friends 7-8:30pm on Tuesday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
