Rebecca Clark Puryear

SOUTH BOSTON Mrs. Rebecca Clark Puryear, widow of the late Dean Monroe Puryear, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019 at the age of 91. Born in Halifax County on February 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Patty Oakes Clark. Rebecca was the owner of Puryear Tire/ Puryear Farms. She loved farming and quilting. She loved her family and was Mema to the whole community and was a lifetime member of Cherry Hill United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children; Grayson Puryear and wife, Gail; Patsy Harris; John Samuel Puryear and wife, Kat; grandchildren, Grayson Puryear, Jr and Dena Walker, Becky Leigh Clark and husband, Dennis, Brandy Oakley, Michael Harris and wife, Jamey, Sydney Puryear Saunders and husband, Travis, and Madison Puryear; great grandchildren, Eric Oakley and Jerica, DJ and Heaven Leigh Clark, Emma Dalton, and Charleston Harris; 2 great great grandchildren and other family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister, Ruby Stevens. A graveside service will be Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Cherry Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2153 Cherry Hill Church Road, South Boston, VA.with Reverend Pat Neilsen officiating.
