Rebecca Glass Satterfield

Rebecca Glass Satterfield, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31st, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on Sunday, June 28th, 1925, in Halifax County, VA, Rebecca lived a full and vibrant life, enriched by her dedication to family, faith, and her many interests.

A devoted homemaker, Rebecca dedicated her life to raising a wonderful family and creating a loving home. She was a long-standing member of the Clarksville Baptist Church, where she found spiritual fulfillment and community. Rebecca had a zest for life that was evident in her love for crossword puzzles, reading, and the occasional thrill of visiting casinos.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Johnson Glass and Bessie Martin Glass, and her beloved husband, Clarence Wilfred Satterfield. She is survived by her loving children, Faye Gibbs (Floyd) of Poquoson, VA, Donna Moore (Ken) of Carrollton, VA, and Dan Satterfield (Pam) of Spring Grove, VA. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Sherry Davenport (Roy), Jay Breedlove, and Scott Satterfield, as well as her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Brandon Davenport.

A graveside service for Rebecca will be held on Friday, April 4th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Eternity Mausoleum in Oakhurst Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the memory of a remarkable woman whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.
