Reverend Luther Milton Marks , 88, husband of Alma “Jean” Crouch Marks of Clarksville, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014.Luther was born in Cranberry, WV on January 8, 1926 to the late Luther Lemuel Marks and the late Annie L. Bailey Marks. He was a lifelong career pastor, teaching school briefly after serving in the US Navy in WW II. An ordained elder in the Virginia conference of United Methodist Church, his life was his church and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ . Rev. Marks liked to fish and hunt and was an avid outdoorsman.In addition to his wife Jean, Rev. Marks is survived by a son, Rev.Milton Marksand his wife, Cheryl of Roanoke; a granddaughter, Sara Marks;a grandson, Chris Marks and wife, Lashley;a great granddaughter, Wendy; and two sisters-in-law, Judy Williams and Kathleen Williams. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2014at Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverends John Bright and Milton Marks officiating.Interment will follow at Oakhurst Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PMFriday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wclfh.com.
