Richard Bruce "Rick" Evans

Mr. Richard Bruce "Rick" Evans of 823 Greenway Dr., South Boston, VA died on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the age of 59. He was born October 31, 1953 to Bernard Eugene Evans and Shirley Ann Hieatt Evans and was married to Tamara Sneed Evans. Rick was a retired maintenance manager at Mecklenburg Power Station for Delta Power Services, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Tamara of South Boston; one son, Richard Bruce Evans, II of South Boston; three daughters, Christi Rider of Jeffersonville, IN, Chasity Hawks of Mebane, NC, and Chariss Evans of Baton Rouge, LA; one sister, Cynthia Michels of Louisville, KY; four brothers, Kevin Evans, Darryl Evans and Chris Evans all of Jeffersonville, IN, and Scott Evans of Forest, VA; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shawna Lynn Evans. A funeral service will be held on Saturday evening, March 2, 2013 at 7:30 pm at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will take place in New Albany, IN. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home prior to the service, from 6:00 until 7:30 pm, and at other times at the home.
