Richard Henry Owen

Richard Henry Owen of Alton passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the age of 87.  He was born in Halifax County on July 9, 1936 to the late George Frank Owen and the late Bonnie Viola Richardson Owen.  He was preceded in death just 4 days prior by his wife, Claudine Osborne Owen.

Before his retirement, Henry was employed by the Standard Coffee Company and sold insurance representing several insurance companies.  He was known for his love of tractors, rebuilding them and very proud of them.

He is survived by a daughter, Gale O. Moore (Quain); grandchildren, Dean Moore (Brittany), Rebecca Moore and Michelle Dabbs; 8 great grandchildren and a sister, Margaret Louise Crews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Claudine; and a brother, Robert Douglas Owen.

A Celebration of Life for Henry and Claudine will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
