Richard Otha Vaughan

Mr. Richard Otha Vaughan of 4241 Cemetery Rd., Virgilina, VA died Monday, May 18, 2015 at the age of 53. He was born in Wake County, NC on August 24, 1961 toFlorette "Susie" Tuck Vaughan and the late Clinton Clayton Vaughan, Sr. and was married to Sarah Puryear Vaughan. He was a member of North Fork Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Royal Ambassador leader. Richard loved to hunt, fish, and was known as a generous, humble soul. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Puryear Vaughan; daughter, Brooke Paige Vaughan; son, Richard Clinton Vaughan; mother, Florette "Susie" Vaughan; sisters, Brenda Vaughan Underhill of Youngsville, NC and Linda Vaughan Robertson and husband, Mark of Fuquay Varina, NC; and brother, C.C. Vaughan and wife, Sonja of Roxboro, NC. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at North Fork Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Virgilina Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made in honor of his wife, a cancer patient, to the Halifax Co. Cancer Association, PO Box 1891, Halifax, VA 24558.
