Richard Lee Yarbrough

Richard Lee Yarbrough of Buffalo Junction, VA, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the age of 68. He was born on February 28, 1955, in Person County, NC, to the late Hubert and Ruby Painter Yarbrough and was married to Elaine Atkins Yarbrough, who survives. Richard was retired from Revlon, where he had worked for 20 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and when he was inside, he enjoyed watching sports on television, especially football. Richard will be remembered for his sense of humor as he was always joking around. In addition to his wife of 30 years, Elaine, Richard is survived by his children, Richard Lee Yarbrough, Jr. and Tanya Jo Yarbrough; stepsons, Gary Wilkerson (Amy) and Jason Wilkerson (Cheryl) grandchildren; and step grandchildren, Heather Huling (Kyle), Matthew Wilkerson and Gavin Wilkerson. He is also survived by a brother, Jesse Thomas Yarbrough; brother-in-law, David Atkins, Jr. (Carolyn) and sister-in-law, Angela Sheppe (Steve). Richard was preceded in death by grandson, Frankie Wayne Wilkerson. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 27 at Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle Cemetery, with Reverend Randy Holmes officiating.
