Rita Culp Stewart

SOUTH BOSTON Ms. Rita Culp Stewart of Mechanicsville, VA, formerly of South Boston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at the age of 72; surrounded by her children.She was born in Northumberland, PA on November 28, 1947 to the late Ralph W. and Lorena Bohner Culp. Rita was of Calvary Baptist Church.Her hobbies included cross- stitching, crocheting and quilting. She was particularly proud of the number of veterans in her family. The loves of her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Jeff Stewart, Tammie S. Saunders and husband, Phillip and Shawn Stewart; sister, Georgianna Marks and husband, Robert; sister in law, Juanita Culp; grandchildren, Phillip Saunders,II(Heidi), Brooke Fogleman(Steven), Jacob Saunders(Marcia), Caleb Stewart, Eric Stewart, Hannah Saunders(Jacob Dunlap),Abbie Saunders, Aiden Stewart, and Riley Stewart; great grandchildren, Hayden Nichols, Grayson Dunlap, Taylor Saunders, Elsie Kate Saunders, Beau Carrington Saunders and Bennett Fogleman; special friends, Carolyn and Jim Chandler and Vicky Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sandra Culp, Dottie Snyder, Woody Culp, Penny Ludwig and Ginny Marks. A private family ceremony is planned for Sunday, May 17th.
