Robert Earl Davis

Mr. Robert Earl “Slick” Davis, Sr., 77, died on Friday, April 1, 2016. He was born in Mecklenburg County to the late Charles Franklin, Sr. and Eugie Anna Reamey Davis. He was retired from his automotive repair business of forty years. In his early years, “Slick” worked with H. A. Nunn Construction of Virgilina. He was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. Earl is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Diane Dennis Davis, whom he married on December 12, 1964. Mr. Davis is also survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Earl, Jr. and Carie Davis of Chase City and Paul Wayne Davis of Washington, DC; and grandson, Travis Storm Davis of Chase City. Earl is predeceased by his sisters Mamie D. Womack of Farmville, Violet D. Smith of Asheboro, NC, and Edna Lee Davis of Virgilina; and his brothers Charles F. Davis of Buffalo Junction, James E. Davis of Buffalo Junction, and Glenn D. Davis of South Boston. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Buffalo Junction with the Reverend Joey Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery. Visitation is to be held from 7:00 – 8:30 PM on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville.
