Robert Eugene "Gene" Howerton

SOUTH BOSTON,VA Mr. Robert Eugene “Gene” Howerton passed away September 14, 2017 at the age of 67.He was born March 15, 1950 in Halifax County to Nannie Myrtle Morris Glass and the late Raymond Green Howerton and was married to the late Minnie Belle Oldham Howerton. Gene was an honorary staff of Hudson Insurance Agency, “he showed up daily.” In addition to his mother, Myrtle Glass, he is survived by a daughter, Beth Wilson; sister, Margie H. Hudson and husband Doug; brothers, Tommy Howerton and wife, Mary Lynn, Jerry Howerton and wife Cathie; grandsons, Jamie Wilson and Peyton Adkins, and numerous nieces and nephews.Preceding him in death were his father, Raymond Howerton; wife, Minnie Belle Howerton; son, Bobby; and brother, Clyde Howerton.
