Robert Kent "Robbie" Rice

NELSON - Mr. Robert Kent “Robbie” Rice, Jr. of White House Road passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the age of 64. Born in Nelson, VA on February 16, 1956, he was the son of the late Robert Kent Rice, Sr and Lonie Wilkins Rice and was married to Elaine Rice for 22 years. His roots were in Mecklenburg County, he respected the tradition of family and was an extraordinary son, father, and grandfather. Robbie was a loving husband and the love of Elaine’s life. He had many happy hours on his beloved farm.Robbie was a dedicated employee of WC English, Inc. for over 35 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Chrystal Rice Southworth (Scott) of Ruther Glen, VA and Glenda Word Bronner (Ben) of Richmond, VA; son, Joseph Rice of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Whitney Morgan (Ryan) of Ruther Glen, VA, Jon Benjamin Bronner, III of Richmond, VA and Michael Scott Southworth of Ruther Glen, VA; and sisters, Betsy Loftis of Nelson and Judy Whitlow (Steve) of Buffalo Junction. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Rice Family Cemetery. The Reverend Jimmy Garland will officiate. The family will receive friends at the graveside beginning at 10:15 a.m.
