Robert Harvey Underwood

Mr. Robert Harvey Underwood, age 82, of 1170 Slick Rock Road, Nathalie, VA, died Thursday, December 24, 2009, at his home. Mr. Underwood was born January 18, 1927 in Spartanburg, SC, the son of Robert Thomas Underwood and Ora Jeanett Lawrence Underwood. He formerly attended Antioch Baptist Church, Sandston, VA. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, WWII, and was a member of the American Legion Post 0342. . Surviving are six sons, David H. Underwood of Glouster, VA, Robert W. Underwood of Morehead City, NC, Randy W. Underwood of Varina, VA, Tony L. Underwood of Sandston, VA, Clifford C. Underwood of Varina, VA, and Irvin H. Underwood of Quinton, VA; two Daughters, Marsha J. Underwood of Virginia, and Deborah J. Fuller of Mechanicsville, VA; two sisters, Polly Noll and Louise Edwards both of Sandston, VA; his fiance', Louise Bowes of South Boston, VA; twenty-five Grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Julie L. Underwood. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 10:00 AM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 7 until 8:30.
