Roger Dale Compton

SOUTH BOSTON Mr. Roger Dale Compton passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the age of 60. He was born in Halifax County on July 5, 1960 to Helen Comer Thacker and the late John Ray Compton. Dale always enjoyed watching TV and cars. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being with his family and always had a smile for everyone. He is survived by his mother, Helen Comer Thacker; siblings, Rebecca Smith of Halifax, Douglas Ray Compton of Virgilina, Penny Culley (Jimmie) of West Virginia, Wendy Newton (David) of South Hill, and Tammy Rutledge (Berry) of Drakes Branch; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth R. Compton and Christopher G. Thacker.
