Ronald Sydney Arthur Goodwin, Sr.

Ronald Sydney Arthur Goodwin, Sr., 67, husband of Diane Hauf Goodwin, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Durham VA Medical Center. Mr. Goodwin was born in Baltimore, MD on October 17, 1945 to Howard and Blanche Wooden Goodwin. A United States Marine, Ron served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Retired from the District of Columbia Department of Corrections, Mr. Goodwin was an active advocate for the disabled and those with Multiple Sclerosis, and operated a photography business, "You Call The Shots". Ron had an excellent sense of humor, loved to fish, was a man of hospitality, and was a huge cheerleader for his grandchildren. Funeral services will be 4:30 PM Sunday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Davidson officiating. Interment will take place at Quantico at a later date. In addition to his wife, Mr. Goodwin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Sydney Arthur, Jr. and Lynne Goodwin, of Buffalo Junction; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Chad Driggs also of Buffalo Junction; and Renee and Paul Lehman of Clarksville. His sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Douglas Engle of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Nate and Cathy Goodwin of Gettysburg, PA and grandchildren, Forrest, Erin, and Jeremy Goodwin; Taylor, Cameron, Tristan and Tyler Driggs; Jake Billings and his wife, Meghan; and Jaron, Javon, Jaxon, Jadon, Jamon, Jahon, Jalon, Jaton, and Jabon Lehman also survive. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
