Mr. Ronald Edward Vassar, Jr. of 836 Whitlow Rd., Red Oak, VA died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the age of 66. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on May 8, 1946 to the late Rhonald Edward Vassar, Sr. and the late Jeanette Elliott Hazelwood and was married to Linda Whitlow Vassar. Mr. Vassar was the owner/operator of A-OK Appliance Service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and attended Mesa Community College in Arizona. Survivors include his wife, Linda Whitlow Vassar of Red Oak, VA; three sisters, Gaynell V. Wade and husband, Wayne of Mt. Laurel, VA, Sue V. Lacks and husband, Cecil of Halifax, VA, and Donna V. Chandler and husband, Jonathan of Halifax, VA; four brothers, Jimmy Vassar and wife, Peggy of South Boston, VA, Hugh Vassar of Alexandria, VA, Floyd Vassar and wife, Peggy of Scottsburg, VA, and Gerald Vassar and wife, Patsy of Clover, VA; a special niece, Sherri Vassar Love of Wylliesburg, VA; devoted family caregivers, Preston and Brenda Wilson of Skipwith, VA; and five nieces and ten nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jan B. Vassar, Sr.. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 Am at Clover Cemetery with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at the home, 836 Whitlow Rd., Red Oak, VA.
